The Swim – From the Pier, across the lake and back. Each lap is just under half a mile. 4 laps and then to make up the distance I will swim out until I need to turn back. All distances will be checked on the GPS and the swim will also be supported by a safety kayaker who will also check the distance.
The Bike. Having now gone over the bike route a few times I have changed it. Pen-y-Pass 40 times in 10 days I think, on reflection, would have broken me. Instead I have opted for undulating but more realistic route. It will be a mental challenge doing smaller laps every day however the way I am looking at this is that it is bite size chunks – and easier for my support crew!
The Run – Another loop I am afraid however some good scenery. 4 laps will get just above 24 miles – the difference will be made up by running a bit extra along the lake path. The profile looks bad however it seems worse than it really is as it is a short loop.
